Texas Center for Inquiry
The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is the home of the Texas Center for Inquiry. Since the Center began we have served over 1500 educators throughout the state of Texas.
We offer three institutes during the summer: Introduction to Inquiry: Professional Development Design; Building Capacity for Classroom Inquiry and Teaching Science through Inquiry. For additional information: 817-255-9416.

Attention 5th-8th grade educators… Get Q?rius!
The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is proud to partner with the National Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian Affliates to bring Q?rius to your classroom through an interactive and innovative website (https://qrius.si.edu/) and through free Smithsonian Science Now webcasts (https://qrius.si.edu/jump/live-qrius-science-webcasts#.UtGklLSAQ_w.)
We will offer one-hour after school professional development sessions so you can learn more about resources that Q?rius has to offer your students, meet local science experts related to upcoming webcast topics, and see Museum collections. You will receive one hour of CPE credit (for Texas teachers).
Professional Development dates:
Thursday, January 30 from 4:15-5:15 pm Focus: Forensic Ornithology with Leishawn Spotted Bear, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History
Tuesday, March 4 from 4:15-5:15 pm Focus: Forensic Anthropology with Dr. Dana Austin, Tarrant County Medical Examiners Office.
In your Classroom: You may attend the professional development sessions remotely if you have videoconferencing capability. Simply register for the session at www.connect2texas.net. Click on the “Calendar of Programs and Register” button and choose the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History from the Provider pull-down menu.
At the Museum (March 4 only): Contact the Smithsonian Science Now coordinator at 817-255-9521 or firstname.lastname@example.org to register for the session. Please note: We have a limited number of spaces available due to the size of the distance learning studio.

Are you looking for in-service programs? Our Education staff can help you plan and implement a customized staff development for your campus or district.
