Membership Services Coordinator

The Membership Services Coordinator plays a key role in coordinating and advancing the work of the Museum’s development operations function, primarily focused on its growing membership program. This position is a hybrid of two very important functions of Development. The Membership Services Coordinator will serve as primary representative of the Museum’s membership program to the public as well as performing significant functions of daily gift entry and maintenance of the Museum’s donor databases.

Several significant functions this position performs include the daily coordination and fulfillment elements of the membership process and the oversight of onsite sales team.

Reporting Relationships: This position reports to the Membership Manager and the Director of Grants and Development Operations. Hours: Must be available to work week of Thanksgiving and week of Christmas.

Basic Functions and Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Serves as vital communication link between the Museum and its members through phone, in-person and e-mail inquiries
  • Check in current members, renew prior members and provide general member services as needed
  • Coordinate and supervise the onsite sales team to ensure efficient and accurate gift processing
  • Maintain organization of membership materials and report when inventory is running low.
  • Prepare constituent records for gift entry process
  • Attend and assist with departmental special events as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

The position requires three to five years experience in a fast paced sales, marketing or customer service environment with direct public interaction. Also required are:

  • Warm, professional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with Museum members, general public and staff
  • A positive, achievement-oriented attitude and proactive work ethic
  • Excellent computer skills, with experience using Raiser’s Edge and Patron’s Edge strongly preferred
  • Experience processing complicated sales transactions and data entry
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
