Hands On Science is 2,000 square feet of hands-on learning fun. Designed as a flexible learning area, the exhibit provides opportunities for ages six and older to explore, construct, and follow their own curiosities and questions about basic science phenomena.

One favorite activity in Hands On Science is the Air Table. Guests are presented with a variety of materials and are challenged to create a flying machine that can float or spin in the air for at least five seconds. Other favorites include a Top Table where guests can explore numerous tops and spinning objects and activity stations where they can build and test a variety of wooden structures.

The Hands on Science changing, table-top, science challenges pique the curiosity of even the most serious scientist and sometimes feature an assortment of natural science-based artifacts that allow guests to explore specimens and artifacts from the Museum's collection.
