Do I have to wait for my membership cards to arrive in the mail before I visit?

  • Not at all! You do not ever need to have your cards to visit. Permanent and temporary cards can make your visit easier, but are not required to visit our museum.

  • Plan to show your driver’s license or other photo ID to check in if you do not have your cards.

When will I receive my membership cards?

  • Membership cards will arrive within three or four weeks of your purchase.

How many cards does each membership get?

  • We allow up to two cards per membership. Both cardholders must be adults living at the same address. If only one adult lives at the address given for the membership, one membership card will be issued.


Who can I bring?
Your membership level corresponds to the number of people who can receive member benefits at the museum each day.  Our museum allows you to bring different people every time if you wish, as long as at least one cardholder is present.

  • Basic 2 – total of two people

  • Basic 5 – total of five people

  • Basic 8 – total of eight people

  • Max 2 – total of two people

  • Max  5 – total of five people

  • Max 8 – total of eight people

  • Friends of Science and/or History – total of eight people

Can I park for free?
Yes! We offer free parking for members in our member lot at the corner of Harley and Montgomery. Simply present your membership card or other proof of membership to the parking attendant and enjoy free parking. If you do not have proof with you and must pay the fee to park, please request a parking refund voucher from the cashier when you check in. Member parking is available on a first come first serve basis and is only offered at our south lot adjacent to the museum. Please note: members will not be able to park for free during Stock Show, as the museum does not control parking during that time.

How do I check in and get my tickets?
You may go to any of our cashiers to check in. They are located at our main entrance (the Urban Lantern) and at our Omni Theater entrance. We also have a separate desk for members at the main entrance. Your cashier will give you member wristbands to indicate member admission to our permanent exhibits, and will assist you with any Planetarium or Omni tickets you wish to purchase. If you are a Max member, your included Omni tickets are stored electronically in our ticketing software.
