Chemistry Week

October 24 - October 26

Celebrate National Chemistry Week by learning about the chemistry of photography and imaging. This year’s Chemistry Week theme is “Picture Perfect Chemistry!”

Chemistry plays a crucial role in photography and imaging. In traditional photography, photosensitivity and light reactions are key. The process begins with photon absorption in the camera and continues with chemical development. Modern imaging techniques, like those used in medicine and space exploration, employ various forms of light, sound waves, and electron streams to create images invisible to the naked eye.

Learn more about the science of photography and imaging through engaging activities, awesome demonstrations from local students and educators, and even meet real chemists!

National Chemistry Week at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is sponsored by the American Chemical Society, TCU Chapter.
