For seventy-five years, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History's Museum School has been a beacon of educational enrichment, introducing children to the wonders of the world around them. Established in 1949 as the "Frisky and Blossom Club," this innovative program featured over thirty extracurricular classes, including photography, crafts, and model planes and boats. Staffed by a dedicated faculty of 14 volunteers, the program originated from a group of educators' visions to provide additional learning opportunities for their students.
Fort Worth Museum School holds the distinction of being the first museum preschool in Texas and one of the pioneers nationally in recognizing the capacity of 3, 4, and 5-year-olds to learn about science and natural history. With a rich history of serving more than 200,000 children since its inception, Museum School stands as a testament to the power of early childhood education in fostering a love for learning.
