Space Builders

February 18 | 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

Blast off into a month of cosmic discovery! Families will investigate space-inspired artifacts, learn about space exploration, and step into the role of astronauts as they complete outer space tasks. We’ll create a stellar art project and take on a zero -gravity–inspired engineering challenge. Get ready to build and imagine among the stars! Before or after Homeschool Family Science Club, families are encouraged to extend the fun by exploring the Noble Planetarium Gallery, discovering science artifacts and exhibits upstairs, and even catching a planetarium show to ignite curiosity about the universe!

ENERGY EXPLORERS

March 25 | 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

Become a geologist and discover how Earth’s natural forces shape our world! Families will investigate how energy from wind, water, and weather changes landforms over time. Through hands-on models, students will explore and demonstrate the processes of weathering, erosion, and deposition, and engineer solutions to conserve our natural resources. Before or after Homeschool Family Science Club, families are encouraged to extend their learning by visiting the Energy Blast exhibit to dive deeper into Texas energy, natural resource science, and the powerful processes that shape our Earth.

Buzz & Bloom

April 22 | 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

Spring has sprung at Homeschool Family Science Club! We’re diving into a pollinator -and -plant – inspired celebration of all things blooming and buzzing. Families will get an up -close look at botanical specimens and real insect artifacts from our science collection as we learn how plants grow and how pollinators help our world thrive. We’ll create beautiful nature-inspired art and tackle a hands-on STEM challenge that highlights the incredible relationship between plants, pollinators, and the environment. Families are invited to head over to The Questioneers: Read. Question. Think. Play! Traveling Exhibit and put those engineering skills to the test! Build, create, question, and design —just like Ada Twist, Rosie Revere, and Iggy Peck! It’s the perfect extension of all our STEM adventures.

Have younger explorers? Families with kiddos in K–2nd grade will love visiting the Children’s Museum to pretend to be a florist, arrange colorful blooms, and dive into playful, creative learning. Whichever space you choose, there’s plenty of wonder waiting for you!
