Fort Worth Museum of Science and History Celebrates 75th Anniversary

Hidden Treasures: Celebrating 75 Years Opens May 21st

Fort Worth, TX (May 13, 2016) — The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History will celebrate the 75th Anniversary on Saturday, May 21st with the opening of a special exhibition, “Hidden Treasures: Celebrating 75 Years”, a tribute to some of the Museum’s iconic artifacts from its extensive permanent collections. The Museum will also host special programs and events for the public, with a discounted exhibit admission price of $7.50 per person. “This is truly a celebration,” said Van A. Romans, Museum President. “This anniversary is about the incredible work of a handful of visionary educators. These were women who dreamed of a creative learning environment seventy-five years ago and they achieved that dream when the charter for this Museum was signed on May 21, 1941.”

What began as the Fort Worth Children’s Museum in two classrooms at De Zavala Elementary School now spans 166,000 square feet of extraordinary learning space in the heart of the Cultural District. “Generations of families have come through our programs and thousands of young minds have been inspired by our artifacts and teaching collections, said Romans. “Our newest exhibition, “Hidden Treasures: Celebrating 75 Years” is about nostalgia. It is what so many people love about the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.”
