Fort Worth Museum of Science and History Announces Executive VP of Development

Mark Litzler Brings Notable Fundraising and Leadership Experience to Museum

Fort Worth, TX (December 11, 2018) — The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is pleased to announce Mark Litzler, former Director of External Affairs with the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, has joined the Museum as its new Executive Vice President of Development. Litzler has spent his entire career in development, focused on fundraising and endowment development for universities, hospitals and museums.

“The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is an institution that has played a remarkable role in the lives of so many people here,” said Litzler. “For generations, this Museum has inspired a love of learning in novel and innovative ways, and the future will be no different. This is an exciting time to be part of the Museum and its mission.” In his new role, Litzler will oversee donor programs as well as corporate and individual membership programs.

“We launched a nationwide search to find someone with the depth of knowledge Mark brings to the table,” said Van A. Romans, Museum President. “He’s been a successful fundraiser and an educator, too. It was apparent he also understands our history, as well as our vision for tomorrow, and I believe we’re fortunate to have him join our team.”

In addition to his expertise in fundraising, Litzler is a nationally published cartoonist whose work appears in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s Financial Weekly, The Harvard Business Review, Saturday Evening Post and Reader’s Digest.

He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and he attended Cleveland State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree through the Business School, and Case Western Reserve University, where he received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. He is the proud father of triplets, Andrew, Peter and Molly who live in New York, Denver and Houston.
