VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Be A Volunteer

Volunteers help us fulfill the Museum’s mission of engaging our diverse community to provide outstanding educational experiences that bring science and history to life! Their enthusiasm and curiosity strengthen everything we do, and we’re excited to welcome new volunteers into our community.

We welcome general volunteers from individuals ages 15 and up, with flexible roles assisting public programs, special events, and guest services.

Student and school groups volunteers play an especially meaningful role in our work. From gaining hands‑on experience in a museum setting to building communication and leadership skills, students contribute fresh energy and curiosity that enrich our Museum's experience.

Our Museum Ambassadors program, open to volunteers ages 16 and older, offers ongoing opportunities to support guest engagement, educational activities, and the overall museum experience.

Whether you’re hoping to make an impact in a single day or eager to become part of a long‑term volunteer team, we warmly welcome every level of involvement and the unique energy each volunteer brings.

Students and School Groups

Students and school groups can provide helping hands for our educational programs like Dinos Rock, Space Day and Chemistry Week, unique special events in the Omni Theater and engaging hands-on activities in our Innovation Studios and exhibit galleries throughout the year. Inspire wonder by sharing your enthusiasm for learning!

General Volunteers

The Museum offers many one‑day volunteer opportunities with flexible roles that support our public programs, special events, and overall museum operations. We also occasionally offer small ongoing programs, giving volunteers a chance to stay involved a bit longer and continue contributing in a meaningful way to their community.

Corporate or Civic Group Volunteers

The Museum offers unique volunteer opportunities for corporate groups and civic organizations as part of our Corporate Membership program. For more information about Corporate Memberships, please contact our Development Team at development@fwmsh.org or 817-255-9343.

Museum Ambassadors

Museum Ambassadors are long term volunteers who help to support our public and educational programs including Dinos Rock!, Space Day, Noon Year’s Eve, and more. Being a Museum Ambassador is a fun way to get involved with your community by sharing your passion for science and history!

Museum Ambassadors play a crucial role in enhancing the visitor experience by providing assistance, information, and education. Ambassadors support various departments and activities, helping to create an engaging, informative, and welcoming environment for all visitors.
