Blue Star Museums, a program created in 2010 as a collaboration of the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and the Department of Defense, provides free exhibit admission for active duty military and up to five family members. The program is available through Labor Day (September 2, 2019). A valid military ID must be presented to receive the discount.
Eligible families may also qualify for significant savings this summer through a separate program, Museums for All. Museums for All is a cooperative initiative between the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to offer a signature access program that encourages families of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum habits. The program provides $3 exhibit admission for individuals in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Each SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card is valid for up to four discounted exhibit admissions at $3 per person.
In addition to Museums for All and Blue Star Museums, the Museum also offers several additional discounts. Educators receive one free exhibit admission, veterans and first responders receive discounts on exhibit admission and Omni Theater tickets and the Museum honors a variety of reciprocal programs. The Museum was established in 1941, is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is an Affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute. It engages guests through creative, vibrant programs and exhibits interpreting science and the history of Texas and the Southwest. For more information, visit www.fortworthmuseum.org.
