Fort Worth, TX (April 19, 2021) — The Board of Trustees of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History today announces that Van Romans, president, has advised of his retirement after more than fifteen years of service. We wish Van the best in his retirement.
The Board will immediately commence a search to identify a successor for Mr. Romans. In the interim, the current chief of staff, Kippen de Alba Chu, will be stepping in as Interim President to ensure an orderly transition and manage the museum operations and reopening planned for this summer.
The Museum experienced severe damage due to flooding from the ice storm in February 2021 and has not been able to open. The Museum is hoping to reopen to the public in late June 2021.
