Take a Musical Journey to the Land of the Dead
The film centers on the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday, Dia de los Muertos. Miguel, an apprising young musician (voiced by newcomer Anthony Gonzalez), embarks on an extraordinary journey to the magical land of his ancestors. There, the charming trickster Hector (voiced by Gael Garcia Bernal) becomes an unexpected friend who helps Miguel uncover the mysteries behind his family’s stories and traditions.
Coco premiered theatrically in the United States in November 2017. The film won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. It also won Best Animated Film at the BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Critic’s Choice Awards and Annie Awards.
